Walk into any shop and you'll be offered conventional, synthetic-blend or full-synthetic oil at very different prices. So which one does your engine actually need? The honest answer: it depends on your vehicle and how you drive.
Conventional oil is perfectly fine for older engines with simple maintenance needs and shorter drain intervals. Synthetic-blend splits the difference — better protection than conventional at a moderate price. Full synthetic flows better in extreme heat and cold, resists breakdown far longer, and is often required by modern turbocharged and high-performance engines. In Texas heat and stop-and-go traffic, full synthetic earns its keep by protecting longer between changes.
The most important rule: follow your manufacturer's specification. Using the wrong grade can hurt performance and even void warranty coverage. When in doubt, ask us — we'll recommend exactly what your engine was built for, and never sell you more than you need.
